Larch trees, Broadway Ave. and Larchdale Rd.

Historical image: Source: Nyack library. Larch trees once lined the road at the north end of Broadway, where the state park entrance is today. The area was called Larchdale. The lane that led uphill to the west in now called Larchdale Avenue. This is the property purchased by the Sisters of Christian Doctrine.To expand their mission, in 1924 the sisters bought the Helmer property, which extended on the east from the shoreline of the Hudson River to Route 9W on the west.
